A lot has changed for me after starting the potato challenge back in February. I’ve had amazing success on a potatocentric diet – not only have I lost over 35 pounds, I’ve also reset my taste buds, improved my relationship with food and I can now eat broccoli without gagging!
I love this way of eating so much that it felt wrong calling myself Banana Wisdom so a few months ago I made the huge decision (it felt huge at the time) to change my handle to Potato Wisdom. I still love banana nice cream but potatoes are my main squeeze now.
This morning I launched my first eBook ever, something I never thought I could do, especially a recipe book – because let’s face it, I’m super lazy in the kitchen! But somehow I pulled it off and the result is a beautifully designed eBook that is fun to read, vibrant, filled with all my best tips on how to RESET eating the mighty potato AND finally: super easy and slimming recipes.
This may be my final post on here as I now have an official website that I want to put all my love and attention into. Invite you to visit my new online digs and let me know what you think: https://potatoreset.com
Here’s my latest video on YouTube that summarizes my experience with the magical potato! https://youtu.be/G538jjMLc-s
I’ve wanted to try this for a couple of years but thought it was CRAZY and most likely that I would fail: eat nothing but potatoes for an entire month. It was an experiement to see if I could lose weight eating all the fries, hash browns, mashed potatoes I wanted – and most importantly, get over my junk food addiction. Inspired by “Spud Fit” Andrew Taylor, High Carb Hannah’s Potato Cleanse, and the Potato Man himself Dr. McDougall, I finally got the nerve to try this.
Something amazing happened, I suspected my taste buds would change slightly and they did, but much more than I ever expected. I’m absolutely blown away! This is my story about how I went from a finicky eater to a vegetable lover. Prior to the potato diet, I could not eat broccoli without gagging. Brussels Sprouts? Hell no! Even something as mild as romaine lettuce had to be smothered in hummus for me to eat it.
I always knew that I needed to get more veggies in my diet, especially if I want to lose weight and take my health to another level of awesomeness. I’m so happy I’ve been able to expand my vegetable menu.
Here’s a couple of videos that sum up what I got out of the challenge. First up is my results video, and the second is taste testing my most hated veggies – originally recorded live on YouTube.
I’m super excited to share my results of the Potato Challenge so far! It’s amazing losing weight without feeling hungry and cranky all the time. I’m 41, I have Hashimoto’s Hypothyroidism and I’m losing weight EATING ONLY POTATOES!!
If you suffer from carb phobia, please watch this. You will not look at potatoes the same way again. POTATO ON!
My favorite e-book is on sale again! If you’ve been thinking about getting healthier this year and want long term results this IS IT. Seriously, you can thank me later.
I did the Lean & Clean 14 challenge with a bunch of people back in November (a bunch.. meaning oh… 6000 or so people). Hannah did such a great job with the meal plan, the recipes are easy to follow and there’s enough variety to give you plenty of opportunities to find your new regular meals. I absolutely LOVE the Curry fries and the oh so creamy Mango Curry dip, I accidentally paired the two together and I’m hooked. It’s been a regular for me ever since.
I lost approximately 2 lbs on the 14 day plan. That’s without calorie counting and just eating until I’m satisfied. Keep in mind, I’m 41 years old and I have Hashimoto’s. Plus I had been eating clean prior to the challenge so it would have been unlikely to see a sudden drop. However if you’re coming from a standard American diet, you may see a drastic drop in the beginning – most of which is the release of fluid retention from a high salt diet.
There’s so many awesome testimonials in the Facebook support group that was made for this e-book. Weight loss and drastic improvements in blood pressure have been the most common so far. In the long run I expect to see more testimonials on medications being eliminated, especially in the area of diabetes.
Did I mention how tasty the Garlic Mashed potatoes are? Oh and the breakfasts are hands down my favourite. I’m going to end this here before I make myself hungry again.
Hannah’s sale won’t last long. She hasn’t given me a solid date when it ends but it seems it may be gone by January 7th and not likely another sale until Black Friday of 2017.
